BIRTH OF SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST
We need ushers, lectors and altar servers. Our church survives on the
generosity of our parishioners and their willingness to volunteer. Years
ago, Saint Joseph had a long tradition of men and ladies performing the
duties of usher in our church. Those of us who have been around here
for more than 60 years, remember the dedicated ladies who always were
willing to usher. The same invitation goes to men and women who are willing
to be lectors. It doesn't take training to usher or lector, so please,
if you see that people are needed to usher at Mass, or to perform as
lector, then by all means step forward to help. For joining the ushers
club, please see Justin Karr.
A Belated Thanks to our volunteers who
participated in the annual spring planting and cleaning of the church
yards and surrounding property. Alphabetically: Jim Bandy, Patrick Degens,
John & Gertrude Dunne, Robert Dunne
Jr., Rick and Sharon Fromm, Tonette Houseman, Bruce Jonacz, John Lange,
Matt McGuire, Tom Neil, Carol Patrykus, Ginny Pulcer, & Stephen Weber.
Plants were donated by Matt McGuire, Ginny Pulcer, Tonette Houseman,
John & Gertrude Dunne and Patrick & Dorothy Degens. The lunch
was donated by Patrick & Dorothy Degens, John & Gertrude Dunne,
Carol Potrykus, and Ginny Pulcer. With a one page bulletin, it sometimes
takes a few weeks to create space for a note of thanks to our many volunteers
who make up the wonderful family of St. Joseph Church. Thank you!

ELEVENTH
SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Bid a dedicated priest farewell!
Fr. Paul Ward has received his new assignment, which begins
July 1st. He will bid farewell to St. Joseph Parish next Sunday. We
will have a pot luck lunch in the social hall after the noon Mass on
June 24th in his honor. Parishioners are asked to please bring a dish
or dessert for the luncheon or donate soft drinks or bottled water.
Fr. Ward will be joining a new three-parish cluster that includes the
areas of Yale, Emmett and Brown City. He will be a valuable asset to
this new cluster and we wish him all of God’s blessing in his
new endeavor. Sign up sheets are in the vestibule to give everyone
an idea of what to bring. Please plan to join in support of Fr. Paul
as he takes his leave from us.
